Thonet A 1700 PL 80 RE Square Tabletop

Thonet A 1700 PL 80 RE Square Tabletop

The Thonet A 1700 PL 80 RE Square Tabletop is a square table surface for anyone specifying or refreshing a table, with a lightweight board and real wood veneer as its defining construction. A clear-lacquered beech surface and edge give this Thonet tabletop a coordinated wood finish, while its square proportions create a balanced, compact footprint.

Thonet A 1700 Tabletop Materials

The lightweight board makes the tabletop easier to handle than a heavier solid construction, which can be useful when positioning or changing a table arrangement. Real wood veneer provides a genuine wood surface, so the tabletop brings a natural material character to the setting rather than the look of a plain, unveneered board.

The surface is finished in clear-lacquered beech, and the edge is finished to match. This pairing keeps the visible top and perimeter visually consistent, making the tabletop a considered choice when the edge will be seen from different sides.

Square Tabletop Design and Finish

Its square format gives the table surface equal proportions in both directions, helping it sit neatly where a compact, balanced tabletop is preferred. Straight corners create a clean, defined outline, while the veneered edge has a 5 mm profile that makes the perimeter a visible part of the design.

The A 1700 PL 80 RE square tabletop is a useful option when the shape and finished edge matter as much as the top surface. Its beech finish brings a warm wood tone, while the clear lacquer leaves the beech character visible rather than covering it with an opaque color.

Choosing the A 1700 Surface

Choose this Thonet tabletop when you need a square surface in the A 1700 collection and want real wood veneer with a clearly specified beech finish. The lightweight-board construction, straight corners and veneered edge give you practical details to consider when matching a top to your intended table arrangement.
