Girsberger Base Element Oiled Finish Shelving Unit

Girsberger Base Element Oiled Finish Shelving Unit

The Girsberger Base Element Oiled Finish Shelving Unit is a solid-wood storage unit for workplaces that need shelving with a locking function. Its defining feature is an oiled core-beech construction, including the solid-wood shelves, in a broad, three-raster base element from Girsberger.

Solid Core Beech Construction

Both the base element and its shelves are made from solid core beech, so the main storage components share the same wood species and material character. The oiled finish keeps that wood surface central to the design, making this a considered choice for offices where a wood-finished storage piece suits the surrounding furniture.

The shelves are also specified as solid wood rather than a different material, giving the unit a consistent construction throughout its storage surfaces. If you are comparing shelving by material and finish, this Girsberger shelving unit offers a clear combination: solid core beech with an oiled finish on both the base and the shelves.

Storage and Locking Function

A cylinder lock adds a locking function to this shelving unit, useful when you want storage that can be secured rather than relying on open access alone. The product data does not specify the lock’s placement or the locking arrangement, so check those details if they are essential to your setup.

This model does not include hanging folder frames. It is therefore better suited to general shelving and storage needs than to a filing setup that depends on suspended folders. It also has no acoustic function, so choose it for storage rather than as an acoustic screen or sound-absorbing element.

Workplace Storage Fit

The wide, three-raster format gives the base element a substantial presence for organising workplace items across a shelving unit. Its standard feet are fitted with plastic glides, a practical detail to consider when positioning the unit as part of an office storage arrangement.

For an office or other work area, the decision comes down to the combination of wood construction, shelving and a cylinder lock. The oiled core-beech finish makes the material choice explicit, while the absence of hanging folder frames and acoustic function helps clarify what this model is—and is not—designed to provide.

Choose this Girsberger base element when you want solid-wood shelving with a consistent oiled finish and a locking function. If your priorities are suspended filing, acoustic separation or a specific lock configuration, confirm those requirements before selecting it; those capabilities are not included or detailed in the product information.
