Planning lounge furniture with white bases and upholstered upholstery
Use the white base as a deliberate part of the room palette. It can repeat white details already present in the interior or create separation beneath a darker upholstered body. These approaches produce different visual results, so choose the relationship before comparing individual shapes. Look at the furniture from standing and seated viewpoints: the base may be prominent from an entrance but less visible within a group. A coherent arrangement depends on how the white appears across the whole seating area, including views between pieces and toward the surrounding floor. Record which viewpoints matter most for the project.
Keep the seating layout legible
A pale base does not determine how furniture should be arranged. Begin with the activities expected in the lounge, then orient seating toward conversation partners, reception staff, or a shared focal point as appropriate. Keep the route through the area distinct from the places where people sit. Where upholstered pieces face each other, check that their lower outlines form an intentional composition rather than a collection of disconnected white details. Review the arrangement from adjoining spaces as well. A layout that looks balanced from its center may present an awkward sequence of backs and bases along the main approach.
