The Thonet S 285 0 Schreibtisch Without Storage Desk is a straight, rectangular desk for one person, designed for individual work in an office or home office. Its defining feature is a clear, storage-free layout: a beech real-wood-veneer top pairs with a chrome-finished metal frame, without a storage unit or shelf.
The desk’s beech real-wood veneer surface gives the worktop a wood finish, while the clear lacquer on the beech parts keeps the material visible. This combination suits buyers looking for a wood-look office desk rather than a fully concealed or storage-heavy workstation.
A chrome-finished continuous-leg frame supports the rectangular top. The metal base is offered in several color families, including neutral tones as well as red, while the tabletop selection also spans wood and a range of other colors. This makes it possible to choose a combination that fits the palette of a private workspace or office interior.
With no storage unit or shelf, the S 285/0 keeps the desk setup straightforward and leaves storage decisions to the user. It is intended for one person, making it a practical choice for an individual workstation, a study area or a home office where a dedicated desk surface is the priority.
The rectangular top provides a familiar layout for arranging work essentials, and the straight desk format is easy to position along a wall or within a room. Because the desk is not linkable, it is best considered as a standalone work surface rather than a component for joining into a continuous desk arrangement.
The desk is suitable for a cable tray, which can help buyers plan a tidier cable setup beneath the work surface. A cable tray is not included, so it must be sourced separately if required. Bluetooth control is not provided; the design focuses on a conventional desk rather than powered or app-controlled functionality.
Thonet identifies this model as circular, and the desk comes with a two-year warranty. These details are useful when comparing a straightforward, single-user desk for a professional office or home workspace. Choose the S 285/0 if you want a Thonet desk with a veneered beech top, metal frame and no built-in storage.
