The Normann Copenhagen Ark Modular Sofa Steel is an upholstered modular sofa for office lounge seating, combining a visible steel frame with Steelcut Trio fabric. Its defining difference is the pairing of a modular sofa format with a steel structure, armrests and a headrest, creating a distinct place to sit in a shared or dedicated lounge area.
The steel frame gives the Ark a clearly defined profile, while the upholstery softens the look for lounge settings. The frame is offered in black or silver, so you can choose a darker or lighter metal finish to suit the surrounding furniture.
Steelcut Trio fabric is specified for this model, with upholstery colors spanning red, grey, black, beige, brown, yellow, gold, pink, orange, blue and green. That range makes it possible to select a restrained neutral or a more noticeable color, depending on how the sofa should sit within the room. The product is also listed as FSC certified.
Armrests and a headrest are included, giving the seated user defined places to rest their arms and support their head. These features make the sofa suited to lounge seating where people may want to sit back, rather than to a task chair that is adjusted for desk work.
The seat height, back height and seat depth are not adjustable, and the model does not include lumbar support. This fixed setup is worth considering when choosing seating for a particular space: it offers a consistent seating arrangement, but does not adapt to different users through adjustment controls.
As a Normann Copenhagen modular sofa, Ark can be considered for office lounge areas and other spaces that call for upholstered lounge seating. Its combination of steel and fabric makes the frame and upholstery clear parts of the room’s visual scheme, while the available color choices help coordinate it with surrounding interiors.
The product is identified as circular and comes with a two-year warranty. These details give buyers useful context when assessing the sofa for a professional setting and planning its place in a furniture purchase. Choose it when you want a steel-framed upholstered sofa with a headrest and armrests, rather than adjustable seating features.
